31 May 2017 12:00 AM | Gail Jodoin (Administrator)

Four scholarship recipients were announced by the IANJ Board of Directors on May 30. “We were extremely pleased with the number of scholarship applications that we received and are proud of the students who are receiving these 2017 scholarships,” said IANJ President Roy Nau. $500 scholarship checks will be sent to four students.

Recipients of the “Green Industry” Scholarships are:

Michael Sterling, son of Rich Sterling of Sterling Irrigation in Cape May, NJ, is the 2017 valedictorian of Cape Christian Academy in Cape May.  He will attend Atlantic Cape Community College and hopefully go on to complete a four year degree. “I plan to complete a two-year business degree and eventually own my own irrigation business. As the youngest child in my family, this scholarship will greatly assist me in remaining debt free and helping my family business.”

Logan Stein is the son of Diane Toth of Aqua Lawn, Inc.  He is currently enrolled at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT pursuing a degree in Sports Management.

Recipients of the General Scholarships are:

Ian Vogt, son of Thomas Vogt of Atlantic Irrigation in White Plains, NY, is a graduate of Central Bucks High School, Warminster, PA. He plans to attend Ursinus College and pursue a double major in Economics and Finance.  “I will also be a student-athlete at Ursinus and hope to continue working in the industry as I pursue my career.”

Emma Geckler, daughter of Stephen Geckler of Aqua Lawn, is a graduate of Lauralton Hall (Ct) and plans to attend Quinnipiac University pursuing a nursing degree. “This scholarship will help support me in my endeavors with the hope I can benefit someone else in the future.”

IANJ congratulates these outstanding students.
